Refuse To Use
This program, developed by Stratton Mountain Resort and The Collaborative, supports and assists schools in their individual prevention plans. Stratton Mountain Resort's, Riley Rink's and Viking Nordic Center's generous committment combined with oversight from The Collaborative, provides schools a real opportunity to offer students a tangible incentive to remain substance free. Students in RTU begin by taking a pledge to remain free from drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. Students then attend Three out-of-school prevention education events in the fall and then receive a season pass to Stratton Mountain Resort, Riley Rink or Viking Nordic Center. Two additional events are scheduled in the early part of the New Year after winter recess. Students must remain substance free and must attend all Five events to maintain their pass. These substance abuse prevention events events are held at the participating schools and incorporated into the overall prevention plan designed by the school prevention staff.
