The Collaborative offers parenting classes throughout the year. These classes follow the Guiding Good Choices program guide by J. David Hawkins, Ph.D., and Richard F. Catalano, Ph.D. and are and are taught by a trained facilitator. Class participation is recommended for parents.
Parents of children in K - 3rd grade will learn and share effective information and techniques on raising healthy, responsible, cooperative kids. Some of the topics that will be covered are:
* How to listen and communicate so they will share *How to get them to listen for the first time *How to teach appropriate behavior, not just punish misbehavior

Parents of 9 - 14 year olds will gain the knowledge and tools to help them guide their children to making healthy choices. Some of the topics that are covered are:
*What may increase a child's risk of drug use and what can families do to reduce the risk
*How to develop healthy beliefs and clear standards
*Learning a Five step process to help kids resist peer influences
*How to increase your child's contributions to the family
